Haida Raven
Design : Inspired by the Haida Art of the Pacific NorthWest this design features a Raven image appliqued in black leather onto a vivid blue background. Simple Haida ovoid designs are embroidered on black leather down the spine of the journal. Raven is a central figure in Haida Culture and believed to be a complex reflection of one's own self. In Haida mythology Raven is revered as a potent creative force responsible for the creation of Haida Gwaii, the release of the sun, creating the stars and the moon and freeing the first humans from a cockle shell on the beach. He is also a trickster character and many Raven stories have to do with his poor behavior and the trouble he causes.
Closure : Two simple simple black leather straps with silver snap fasteners.
Fabric : Black Leather is used for the Raven Applique, Spine and the Closure. A vivid blue micro-suede fabric is used as back cover and on inside flaps .
Colors : Vivid Blue, Black , Red and White accents
